How it all started...
Pastor Ernest Grimm and wife Fern were moved by the Holy Spirit to plant a church in Kalona that would proclaim the full gospel message and demonstration of the Spirit. FGRC began with a small group of believers in Frytown in 1964, and then moved to a small church building located at 211 4th Street on June 6th in 1966. They experienced steady growth and built a beautiful new facility at 1103 J Ave. in 1979 where in remains today. Pastors John and Shirley Helmuth succeeded Pastor Grimm at his retirement in 1991. They provided leadership and focused on being true to the original vision and retiring the mortgage until 2002 when they obeyed the call to full time missions to the Nations with Kingsway Fellowship International. Pastor Ron and Sue Breese were installed in December of 2002 continuing the vision of Pastor Grimm until their resignation to step into a deeper role as the Assistant Overseer with Kingsway Fellowship International in 2017. Pastor Jeremy and Lisa Gugel were installed at pastors in June 2017 and desire to provide a place of worship honoring the gifts of the Spirit and ministry to the lost, hurting and needy.
Expanding the vision...
We desire to continue the work of the Gospel by helping those in need, bringing healing to the hurting and a family for the lost.
We are constantly looking for ways to serve our community.
In Kalona we offer a food pantry (House of Plenty),
as well as an annual school supply giveaway.
Missions are also a very important part of what we do.
We support several different missionaries and ministries as they spread the Gospel to the whole world.

Where we are headed...
At FGRC we continue to strive to be a place that the presence of God is experienced each and every time we are together. We desire to be a place of revival where people are awakened and transformed by the power of God. We want to be a place of awakening. A place where the spiritually hungry and thirsty can come to be filled and refreshed. Equipping the people of God to fulfill the great commission.
